Fairtrade is a global growing market and recorded noticeable success in many countries worldwide. In 2009, global sales of Fairtrade labelled products hit €3,4billion - an increase of 15% from the previous year. Global sales reached a staggering €4,36billion in 2010.

In South Africa, from zero products just a couple of years ago, we reached a staggering R18,4million in Fairtrade sales in 2010 only - three times the amount of R5,7million registered in 2009. The market for organic and other ethical products is also steadily growing - sign that South Africans are growing an appetite for sustainable goods, preferably produced locally.
