A FAIRTRADE DAY WITH SUZANNE ACKERMAN

Fairtrade Label South Africa will be hosting its inaugural Human Rights Day initiative on Tuesday, 22 March 2011, at Fairhills farms in Rawsonville. The event aims to inform and educate invited guests and the media on Fairtrade in South Africa, its purpose and vision. Suzanne Ackerman, Pick 'n Pay's Transformation Director and Chairman of the Pick 'n Pay Foundation, will be delivering the key note address.
Guests and media will be taken on a tour of the Fairhills project to see how Fairtrade has benefitted farm workers and their respective families. The tour includes a visit to Fairhills community hall, craft shop and creche - all funded and maintained with the Fairtrade premium generated through the sales of Fairhills wines.
