A TASTE OF FAIRTRADE

On Wednesday 10 November, FLSA will be hosting A Taste of Fairtrade - an exclusive wine tasting and canape' pairing event aimed at introducing hotels and restaurants in the Western Cape to South African Fairtrade wines. Held at the distinguished Cape Grace Hotel, sommeliers, wine managers and restaurateurs as well as wine writers will be presented with over 20 local Fairtrade wines ranging from sparkling bubbly, to crispy whites, full-bodied reds and heavenly sweet wines.
Boudewijn Goossens, Executive Director of FLSA, says that 'A Taste of Fairtrade' "is the first of many events that will target the hospitality industry in South Africa, encouraging them to offer their clients the choice to support Fairtrade locally". The event is also supported by Fair Trade in Tourism South Africa, whose Certification Manager Lisa Scriven highlights "One of the most significant ways for the hospitality sector to positively impact local socio-economic conditions is to ensure that they give preference to suppliers whose business operations support positive development".
