The local liquor retail chain Ultra Liquors has teamed up with Fairtrade Label South Africa (FLSA) for an exciting FAIRTRADE WINES PROMOTION which will run during the whole winter season until September 2010. A shelf dedicated to Fairtrade wines will be installed in all 29 Ultra Liquors stores nationwide and the promotion will be featured in the Ultra Liquors Winter Catalogue.
This great initiative will make it easier for local consumers to buy ethically given that, for the first time in this country, they will find several Fairtrade products to choose from in one single store. In addition, consumers will have the opportunity to attend the Fairtrade wine tastings that FLSA is organising in selected Ultra Liquors stores in 6 main South African cities: Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Port Elizabeth and George. FLSA staff and volunteers will give you a taste of the wines as well as information on Fairtrade and the benefits at the farm level. Keep an eye on our website and check when you can taste our delicious Fairtrade wines in your city!
The Fairtrade wines promoted are: Tukulu Syrah (unwooded); Tukulu Sauvignon Blanc; Stellar Organics Merlot; Stellar Organics Cabernet Sauvignon; Stellenrust Cabernet Sauvignon; Thandi Pinot Noir; Thandi Cabernet Savugnon Merlot; Thandi Sauvignon Blanc Semillon.
