VALENTINE'S DAY: SHOW YOUR LOVE FOR AFRICA

From : 03 February 2012 10:04 - Untill : 14 February 2012 10:04
Location : All around you!

Fairtrade Label South Africa (FLSA) rebels against traditional Valentine’s Day norms as we  gear up to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a new, nonconformist campaign that will shake the hearts of romance diggers and haters alike.

While South Africans get ready to offer gestures of goodwill for their loved ones, we are changing the rules of the game as we ask the nation to forget red roses, chocolate boxes and unaffordable dinners for five minutes and think of why they love Africa.

The ‘SHOW YOUR LOVE FOR AFRICA” campaign calls everyone to join our Facebook and Twitter pages and share in less than 50 words the reason(s) why they love this continent.

“This campaign aims at reminding us why we love Africa and what we can do to make it a better place for everyone” says FLSA’s Executive Director Boudewijn Goossens. He continues, “The success Fairtrade is having with the public is indicative of the love and pride consumers have for African products and the desire to create  a more equal and sustainable Africa together.”

Both individuals and companies can participate in our ‘SHOW YOUR LOVE FOR AFRICA’ campaign from now until Valentine’s Day by writing on our Facebook and Twitter pages and tell us, in less than 50 words, what they love most about Africa. The most passionate love messengers stand a chance to win a coffee cupping experience for four people at the Bean There Coffee roasteries in Cape Town or Johannesburg. Bean There Coffee Company is a proudly South African business that sells delicious African coffee, fairly produced, traded and sold in Africa. Winners will also walk away with a Fairtrade goodie bag full of locally produced Fairtrade products.

Everyone can contribute to a more equal and sustainable Africa by Showing their love for Africa our Facebook Page (http://www.facebook.com/FairtradeSA) and on Twitter (http://twitter.com/FairtradeSA - #Fairtradelove).
