FAIRTRADE & CLIMATE CHANGE
01.04.2010 - Many agricultural producers worldwide are expressing more and more concerns as they are increasingly affected by climate change, especially in the South where environmental disaster such as droughts and flooding can cause the loss of entire livelihoods. As a promoter of sustainable development, Fairtrade supports adaptation and mitigation measures to address those growing challenges.
Fairtrade's position paper on climate change and its repercussions on the most disadvantaged farmers are discussed in the Climate Change and Fairtrade Position Paper (format PDF, size 49kb), recently published by the Fairtrade Labelling Organisation (FLO).
