FAIRTRADE STARBUCKS IN SA

01.06.2010 - A partnership between Starbucks and selected South African hotels and casinos will bring Starbucks coffee for the first time in South Africa, including their range of 100% Fairtrade espressos and espresso-based beverages. The deal was recently signed with Southern Sun Hotels and Tsogo Sun Casinos, who are expected to use Starbucks Fairtrade coffee by the beginning of the world cup.

Starbucks was founded in 1971 in Seattle and currently has more than 16.000 outlets in 50 countries worldwide, 7.500 of which offer Fairtrade certified coffee. The company introduced the first Fairtrade line in 2000 and since September 2008 it became by far the world's largest buyer of Fairtrade certified coffee.
