FLAVOURS OF FAIR TRADE IN JOBURG TONIGHT

08.03.2011 - Tonight from 7pm, Fairtrade Label South Africa will attend Flavours of Fair Trade, a cocktail event which brings together a variety of fair trade stakeholders to learn about the progress of the fair trade movement in South Africa.

The event will host not only stakeholders from the agricultural sector (who work with the Fairtrade label) but also actors from the tourism and handicraft industry. Each sector works according to globally accepted principles for fairer trading, sustainable development and empowerment of producers and workers.

Flavours of Fair Trade will take place at the Bean There Coffee roastery, on 44 Stanley Avenue, Milpark, Johannesburg. The programme includes short speeches from Boudewijn Goossens, executive director of FLSA, Katarina Mancama (project manager, Fair Trade in Tourism South Africa) and Jonathan Robinson (managing director, Bean There Coffee Company). Participants will be offered Fairtrade wine and coffee.
