GETTING CLOSER TO FAIRTRADE, GLASS AFTER GLASS
15.11.2010 - Last week wednesday, representatives from various hotels and restaurants in the Western Cape attended an FLSA organised wine tasting and canape' pairing at the prestigious Cape Grace Hotel - A Taste of Fairtrade. The guests were welcomed with some crispy bubbly which was followed by four flights of white and red wines, each paired with an exotic canape'. The evening ended off with dessert wines, truffles and delicious Bean There Fairtrade coffee. In total, over 21 local Fairtrade wines were tasted.
The event was a great success. Most of the guests had not heard of Fairtrade and were very supportive of the system! A Taste of Fairtrade is the first of a series of events across the country that FLSA will host in order to introduce Fairtrade to the hospitality sector and to encourage them to offer Fairtrade products to their patrons.
