MEET US AT THE SOWETO WINE FESTIVAL
24.08.2010 - What makes the Soweto Wine Festival such a trendy event is not only the wide offer of wines and the location in the energetic Soweto, but also, and especially, the possibility to meet interesting people and share experiences in a friendly and informal environment - while having a glass of wine!
We invite all of you to come and meet us at the Fairtrade wines area! What will make your experience great (apart from the delicious wine!) is that you will have the opportunity to chat directly with people that lice Fairtrade first-hand by working in the certified farms. We don't just talk about Fairtrade benefits, we bring them live on your doorstep!
Come and meet Charl Wenn, a farm worker who - thanks to Thandi's commitment to empowerment and Fairtrade - is now assistant production manager at Nietbegin Vineyards and member of Thandi's board of directors. Or chat with Cynthia Pietersen, the principal of the three Daycare Centres that were built thanks to the Fairtrade Premium and member of the Fairhills Joint Body, the farm workers' trust that manages the Fairtrade Premium to invest in projects for the whole community. Or cheer with Berty Jones, that started out at Stellar Organics with helping building the cellar and is now cellar master (and vice-chair of Stellar Joint Body).
