OXFAM FOOD JUSTICE CAMPAIGN LAUNCH
02.06.2011 -An exciting new Oxfam global campaign, calling for greater justice and sustainability in the food system, was launched yesterday 1 June 2011. The campaign touches many important issues affecting Fairtrade producers and seeks to build a movement calling for specific reforms to agricultural, food, trade and climate change policy.
The launch comes with a report describing a new age of growing crisis: food price spikes and oil price hikes, devastating weather events, financial meltdowns and global contagion. Behind each of these there are growing inequalities, chronic hunger and vulnerability, the erosion of natural resources.
