THANDI WINES IN CANADA
28.03.2010 - The South African Thandi Wines was praised in an article on the Canadian Montreal Gazette titled 'Raise a Glass to Black Empowerment'. The article explored the success of Thandi and its remarkable business model. 55% of Thandi's company and land is in fact owned by its 250 farm workers, making the whole business a full-fledged empowerment project.
Thandi was established in 1995 and became the first Fairtrade certified wine farm in the world in 2003.
